MRFC Oryxes - 3rd
MRFC Barbarians - 7th

A fantastic weekend of International Touch Rugby in Muscat courtesy of Oman Rugby. Ten teams competed with teams travelling from Oman, Iran, UAE, Kuwait and the UK. MRFC proudly entered two teams: MRFC Oryxes and MRFC Barbarians.

MRFC Oryxes showed up to day 1 as being the undefeated champions of the previous two tournaments. On Day 1 they won three matches and lost one. This took them through to the semi finals for the plate on the Saturday. With an intense semi final against 2 Anglians (UK Military), MRFC Oryxes lost 5-4 and went through to 3rd / 4th playoffs against the Oman Army. The tension was high between two the teams who were finalists in the previous tournament. After an intense 30 minutes, MRFC Oryxes won, resulting in 3rd overall position of the tournament.

MRFC barbarians brought the rugby spirit to the tournament. With the average age being over 40, the team brought their A game and worked hard in each match. MRFC barbarians made it through to the semi finals of the bowl. Although they lost their match against the Pirates, their determination and support of one another never waivered. Coming 7th overall in the tournament, they made MRFC incredibly proud.

Well done to all of our players - especially Arthur Kung (MRFC Oryxes) and Moiez Ibrahim (MRFC Khanjas) who were names as players of the tournament by their captains.

Check out the women's game reports for their incredible women's showcase that took place on Saturday 18th.
